ImageOne of the best features in Windows 8 is Windows 8 is available on desktop, laptops, tablets and smartphone. Now, ITG announced a new xpPhone 2 few day back which is powered by Microsofts upcoming Windows 8 operating system.

This is not the first mobile phone we hear of to be powered by a desktop flavor of Microsoft's Windows 8 client, though it still sounds intriguing. We know that Samsung , Lenovo, and HTC also released Smartphone with Windows 8 Operating system. I think it one of the best competions in Smartphone and tablets.

Specification of ITG xpPhone 2

There are spesification of ITG xpPhone 2:

  1. This device is successor to the original xpPhone
  2. Powered by a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor
  3. 2GB RAM and 112GB of SSD storage.
  4. XpPhone 2 also includes a 4.3-inch display
  5. Battery life up to around 18 hours of call time or 46 days on standby.
  6. XpPhone 2 slimmed down to 140mm x 73mm x 17.5mm from bulky predecessor.
  7. Touch-friendly Windows 8 on board along with a non-underclocked CPU

ITG makes some eyebrow-raising and somewhat humorous claims about the xpPhone 2. For starters, they boast about running the fastest processor around, even though weve repeatedly seen that clock speed is not the Holy Grail when it comes to performance on any platform. When comparing the xpPhone with Windows to other platforms, they talk about availability of apps. Sure, more than 400,000 apps for iOS is a nice start, but its a drop in the bucket compared to the 150 million you can install on Windows. Of course, only a tiny fraction of which are designed for a smartphone-sized screen or work that well with touch input. This is the best features in xpPhone 2.Image

The xpPhone 2 will be made available in January (may be with Windows 7 ) and Windows 8 is expected to be generally available later next year. That dockability is pretty darn cool, especially if ITG is able to put it on retail shelves with the same $450-650 price tag as the original xpPhone.
